Frequently Asked Questions

What is the accuracy of an Estimated Due Date (EDD)?
Only about 4% to 5% of babies are born on their exact estimated due date. Most babies arrive between 37 and 42 weeks of pregnancy. The EDD is primarily a target window for planning and medical monitoring.
How does this calculator compute the delivery date?
It uses Naegele's Rule adjusted for custom cycle lengths: adding 280 days (40 weeks) to the first day of your last menstrual period, and adjusting for menstrual cycle variations.
Does my delivery date change if I have a C-section?
If you have a scheduled Caesarean delivery or induction for medical reasons, your OB-GYN will set a delivery date that is usually 1 to 2 weeks before your natural due date.
